Alex Golden, a 14 year old young man working on his Eagle Scout project brought in 40 new beds for the animals! Alex sought out donations from a variety of different sources for awning material, pvc pipe and hardware. He then spent two months of his own time drafting and building these wonderful new additions to our kennels. These new beds keep dogs a few inches above the ground to help with arthritis, warm and cool temperatures. He also created a blanket to go on each of the beds to make them extra cozy.
The animals are already loving these wonderful beds! Thank you Alex for your love and commitment to the animals here at HSVC! See more photos of Alex’s project on our Facebook Page!
We would also like to thank the companies that helped by donating materials to this project: Jason at B&B Do It Center in Augora Hills, AAA Awnings in Garden Grove, Awnings Plus of Ventura, Home Depot and John and Linda Golden (Alex’s parents).
