Education is a major tool the Humane Society of Ventura County uses to work towards the goal of eliminating the pet overpopulation problem and preventing animal abuse.

The following are some activities you can do with your children to help them learn about animals and their importance in our world, while at the same time, having fun activity to share with each other.

CLOTHESPIN ANIMALS (Print out these sheets, cut out the figures, color them and then attach clothespins for legs and they will stand on thier own).

SODA CAN COVER (Print out this sheet. Color the picture of the owl, then wrap it around a soda can. It can then be filled with sand and used as a door stop, cut a slot in the top and used as a bank or ust as a decoration.)

WORD SEARCH PUZZLE (Print out this page and your child can learn about the many wonderful species of turtles while they have fun completing a word search puzzle. There are also pictures which they can color.).
