WE JUST RECEIVED A HUGE ASSORTMENT OF DOG CLOTHES IN ALL SIZES AND COLORS (SWEATERS, HATS, RAINCOATS, ETC.), PERFECT FOR THE COLD WEATHER. WE ALSO HAVE LOTS OF BIRD, FISH, AND SMALL ANIMAL SUPPLIES. WE WILL BE SELLING ALL OF THESE ITEMS AT THE SHELTER IN OJAI FOR A FRACTION OF WHAT THEY'RE WORTH.

***New: We are currently offering corporate and personal sponsorships for our shelter animals. This helps pay the costs involved in caring for our animals. Corporate sponsors pay $500 and can have their company name posted near the animal's picture until it is adopted. Personal sponsors pay $50 and can have their name (if desired) posted near the animal's picture until it is adopted. Pet of the Week

The Humane Society of Ventura County has been in operation since 1932. It has many specialized programs offered free to all in Ventura County. We are located at 402 Bryant St. in Ojai, and are open for adoptions Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 4:30 pm During Daylight Savings Time, then from April 6 through Oct. 26, the Shelter is open from 10 am to 6 pm Monday through Friday, and from 10 am to 4:30 pm Saturdays. We are closed on Sundays.

We are a no-kill shelter, which means before an animal is euthanised, stringent guidelines must be met. The Humane Society of Ventura County does not euthanize animals only to make room for other animals. Instead, Shelter officials work hard to encourage spaying and neutering as an alternative to pet overpopulation. Low-cost spay and neuter operations are available at the Shelter's Spay and Neuter Clinic in Ojai.

 The Humane Society of Ventura County has been in existence since 1932, thanks to the generous donations of our many wonderful benefactors such as Sara Bayless. A real animal lover, Sara donated the Bryant Street property on which the Shelter was built. Our thanks go out to everyone who makes donating to the Humane Society of Ventura County a pet project each year.
