Help us save animals from abuse and neglect. Please report all instances of suspected abuse or neglect. You can use the form below to report on-going neglect, but for serious abuse cases or when you feel an animal's life is in danger, contact your local police immediately, then notify our investigators by phone at (805) 656-5031 or 646-6505. Please be advised that the following situations usually DO NOT consitute abuse or neglect:
* Animals chained outside if they have access to shelter and water and are not in danger of choking because of becoming dangerously tangled.
* Livestock (including horses) without shelter.
* Animals enclosed in vehicles unless temperatures are likely to cause harm.
Also, the Humane Society does not investigate barking dog complaints, loose or vicious dogs or too many animals (unless this consitutes a health risk for the animals). For these types of complaints, contact the Ventura County Department of Animal Regulation at (805) 388-4341.
